About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! King's Faith movie review and giveaway!

The winner is #5- Christy White!!  Congratulations, Christy!

About the film:
Eighteen foster homes. Nine arrests. One life-changing moment.
After Brendan King’s life spiraled to rock bottom, the teen found hope in a new relationship with Christ while serving time in a juvenile penitentiary. Recently released from prison, Brendan finds solace in the foster home of a couple struggling with suppressed grief.
As the city-bred teen enrolls at a suburban high school, he finds support from a group of believers. Yet the bonds of his old way of life—and the gang that wants to know where he hid their stash on a long-ago night—are strong. In his darkest moment, Brendan found faith. Now he must decide if it’s worth the price to hold on to it.
KING’S FAITH is produced by DiBella and Faith Street Film Partners LLC, a Rochester, NY-based collective of filmmakers, churches, investors, and supporters.

My Thoughts:
Forgiveness, new beginnings, God's love, trust and grace are all crucial elements of this inspirational movie.  I watched it with both of my daughters, ages 10 and 15, even though it's PG-13.  Yes, there is some violence but it's not glorified. It's presence in the movie is to illustrate a point- the difference between good and evil and the fact that God can change people.  There is no profanity used by the villains- none!  The actions and words of the characters stood for themselves.  Foul language wasn't necessary- so refreshing!  The most crucial point of the movie had the foster father quoting from the Bible.  The main character is at a cross roads in his life and has to make an impossible decision.  His father pleads with the young man, "Trust in the Lord and not on your own understanding!"-I was in tears!  I felt that the relationship with the homecoming queen was a bit unnecessary, but everyone loves a love story, right? :).  (The topic of abortion is touched upon here.)  I loved watching the foster parent's relationship grow and change.  Having lost their son and then learning to care for another young man was easier for one while the other was afraid.  Engaging story lines, action, likable characters and the fact that it give's God the glory makes King's Faith a winner of a movie!
