About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Here is something delicious to savor on these cold winter nights...

My parents gave me this book for Christmas last year. It sat on my bookshelf for a whole year. I was so intimidated... Well, a year later, we had the pleasure of creating something divine and (oh so easy!) from darling Ina on Christmas Eve. It's our new favorite dinner.

Roasted Shrimp Cocktail that will make your mouth water and your lips tingle. No lie. The pepper makes it. Yes, pepper! I never use pepper. What??! Use the pepper.

(picture from The Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics book)
She also makes an amazing cocktail sauce to accompany this but the store was out of horseradish.:( I KNOW it is amazing because Ina said so. I am a believer.

Did a veggie "not lasagna" tonight from a Rachel Ray 30 minute meal cookbook. Prep time was a bit more, but delish!!!

It's great that you're using your word for the year! And those shrimp look like they should be savored!
Today I got 9 points. Too bad I ate some chocolate mints at work! Oh well, one step at a time!
