About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! "Break Away" Movie Giveaway!

The winner is Natalie!  Congratulations!!

My Thoughts:

Pop some popcorn and gather your family together- but don't forget the Kleenex.  This movie (from the producers of "Faith Like Potatoes") is beyond good- it's inspiring.  It's story is one of hope- so needed no matter where you are in your life.  The tagline for the movie states: When it seems that you've lost everything, use what you've got and let God multiply it.  Not only did the movie deliver this message beautifully, the filmmakers lived it as well.  With limited funds, generous help from friends, and trusting in the Lord to provide, they were able to create "Break Away".  I'm so thankful that they were successful!  God wanted this message to be heard.:)  As a side note, the filmmakers also took on roles in the movie to save funds.  Francois, the main character, was amazingly portrayed by Frans Cronje.  He had such heart, conviction and believable emotion- you will LOVE him!

The characters in "Break Away" have a charming South African accent, but it was a bit tricky to understand at the beginning.  No worries, you'll soon be an expert.:)  The music was perfectly chosen to evoke the emotions being felt and the scenery was stunningly gorgeous and made me want to board a plane to South Africa!  The storyline and characters were masterful.  A good man about to lose everything turns to God to carry him through.  Lines such as, "You follow the Lord and we'll follow you." (a wife talking to her husband) and "This is truly an answer to prayer." are rarely heard in movies, but they are commonplace in "Break Away."  My heart was greatly touched and I was a mess of tears at times.  Drawing from the Bible story of the loaves and the fishes, we are encouraged to "give what we have to the Lord and let God multiply it."  It's simple and to the point, and beautifully represented in this movie.  You'll definitely want to add this to your home video library and share it with friends and family.  We all need encouragement from time to time and the message to "Never Give Up."  Bravo, Word Films!!
