About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! Trash Mix

I make this every year around Halloween, and let me tell you, I look forward to it!  It sounds and looks icky enough to be perfect for this time of year.  I got the recipe from the October 2001 copy of Southern Living magazine.  Make sure and save some for "Survivor" night with your husband!:D  (If it lasts that long...)

Trash Mix

1 (16 oz.) package candy corn
1 (15 Oz.) package pretzel nibblers
1 (12 oz.) package Crunch 'n Munch  (caramel popcorn and peanuts)
1 (15 oz.) package banana chips
1 (15 oz.) package plain M&M's
1 (15 oz.) package dried mango  (If you have never tried this, you must!  YUM!)
1 (15 oz.) package dried pineapple
1 (10 oz.) package toffee pretzels  (I can never find these!  If you do, please let me know where.)
1 (6 oz.) package Craisins (sweetened dried cranberries)
1 (6 oz.) package Gummy Worms

Stir together all ingredients.  Store in an airtight container.  Easy, huh?

I have to say this sounds like a bizarre combination, but I bet it is fabulous! My kids would be in heaven if I would make this! Of course, they'd eat all the worms out of it first. And toffee pretzels? I am going to be on the lookout for those1

That does sound very strange! I have never had dried mango or the toffee pretzels. But I love all the other stuff.

I would love to give your Trash Mix a try. It sounds yummy. I would never have thought to mix all those together. I would like the gummy worms and the fruit but would have to take out the nuts because I am not a fan of nuts. When we get a box of chocolates at our house I eat all the cream centres and my husband eats all the nut centres so it works quite well!

My boys would love the trash mix! You know boys love gross stuff. The girls pumpkins are so cute they did a great job decorating. We are planning to go to N. Georgia this weekend for a camping trip and hope to find some good deals on pumpkins there. Then we can come home and decorate! Have a great day! Blessings, karen
