About Me

My photo
Mysteries, polka dots, California Rolls, TJ Maxx, cozy blankets, rainy days and getting the first spoonful of peanut butter out of the jar make me smile. Spiders, rude people, cold fingers and toes, baby leashes, people that don't wrap their packages before going to the Post Office, poison ivy and Math (pretty much all of it) make me want to scream. My perfect day would be spent with my wonderful husband and sweet girls- watching movies in our jammies! Of course, having the movie theater to ourselves would be great, too. Please pass the popcorn and M&M's.:) I am saved by the grace of God. He is my constant companion and hears my every prayer. What a blessing! I'd love to hear from you! The Redcoats are Coming! Newest Imagination Station adventure!

My Thoughts:

"The best in the series so far!" was what my 11 year old daughter had to say about #14- The Redcoats are Coming!  Written by Marianne Hering and Nancy J. Sanders, it's the newest release in the Adventures in Odyssey series.  Time travel, action, history and a focus on God is what you'll find tucked inside the pages of these children's books put out by Focus on the Family.  The Redcoats are Coming! shadows cousins Patrick and Beth as they venture back in time to deliver a letter to Paul Revere.  They aren't quite sure who they can trust as they endeavor to assist the Patriots in their quest for independence.  Secret codes, spies, and danger are all part of the exciting journey.  Along the way, they meet Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock as well as some dangerous characters. My daughter was surprised to discover that this book is a cliffhanger!  She can't wait until the second book in the 3 book series, Captured on the High Seas, is released so she can see what happens next.  Recommended for ages 7+, although my daughter just turned 11 and loved every page. :)

More About the Book...

The first of a three-book story arc about the American Revolution, The Redcoats Are Coming follows Patrick and Beth as they assist the revolutionaries by waking up the sleeping citizens of 1775 Concord before the Redcoats come. In this adventure, the cousins meet Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock. They help smuggle musket balls, sound the alarm that the Redcoats are coming, and deliver a secret message to Paul Revere. Along the way they learn that most of the revolutionaries leaned on God’s direction and even pastors helped in the cause.

Christian parents and teachers will appreciate the historical facts as well as the biblical worldview training their kids and students will absorb. The kids will appreciate the excitement and tension of an America at war with England, and in some ways, with itself. A curriculum for Christian schools and homeschool families will be available for download at $3.99.
